- Letters from an American - Heather Cox Richardson is an American historian and author. She writes a nightly newsletter detailing what has happened politically and often relates it to past historical events. In addition to her Substack newsletter (which she tells people NOT to pay for) she usually has twice a week talks (Tuesdays and Thursdays) on Facebook and YouTube. I find her reasoned dissection of current events to be comforting because even in the midst of the current chaos she finds hope for the future. If you only pick one link from this section to follow, make it this one.
- Belle of the Ranch - Belle provides news and information on current topics. The YouTube channel usually posts 3 short videos per day. There is a companion channel, The Roads with Belle that has 3 weekly shows. Belle hosts The Roads Not Taken (updates on underreported news). The 2 other segments, Research Road (weekly science and tech roundup) and The Interstate (state level news, recaps and questions) are written by other people but read out in text-to-voice. If you're going to go to one other link besides Heather Cox Richardson, make it this one.
- Vic Meyers - Vic is a guy in his 50s who lives in Colorado. He does very short videos during the week (about 5 minutes or so). He recently did a mini-series on different aspects of the budget bill and how they will affect people that was pretty good. He has a podcast and interviews a variety of people, with an emphasis on Colorado politics. He is not as polished as some of the other YouTubers but he's honest and passionate which I think makes up for any roughness.
- Paul Warburg - Paul is an independent geopolitical analyst who breaks down complex situations in an easy-to-understand way. A lot of his most current content focuses specifically on what is happening with Russia.
